CMYK design history
Every artist, designer and photo-person has a relationship with CMYK in one way or another-- my relationship goes back to some camera-less and printer-less "photographs" I made using the materials of inkjet printing. They were almost un-photographable and started with these tall columns of paper.
The columns were sprayed with light layers of individual C, M, Y photo ink colors with an airbrush. Unfurled they revealed two columns and two lines that I thought about as a photograph of the column of rolled photo paper.
They were shown at the David Petersen Gallery in Minneapolis and then at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis along side Wolfgang Tillmans paper drop photo I had seen many times at WAC.
